Sex slaves? More like lords of the dance....

Sex Slaves from Hell
King's Arms, Penryn
- Saturday 14 February

A large crowd had gathered at the King's Arms for what was rumoured to be the last Sex Slaves From Hell gig. Whether this was really the last gig, idle gossip, or indeed a crafty marketing plot by the band to bring in the punters, only time will tell.

There's something infectious about the Sex Slaves' sound. Playing a mix of traditional English, Irish, American and eastern European music, it's melodic, energetic and unusual. It's almost impossible to keep still when you hear it - not that you'd want to.

They describe their music as 'high energy folk-rock' - you probably could have powered a small town from the energy emanating from the King's Arms that night.

It wasn't long before the dance floor was awash with scores of sweaty revellers. Some had rhythm. Others didn't. Either way, it didn't matter - everyone was having a good time.
